About Tamika Mapp 4 State Assembly
Tamika Mapp was raised by her grandparents in a poverty-stricken neighborhood in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her grandfather worked hard to provide for the family while her grandmother taught her valuable life lessons. When Tamika became a mother, still a teenager herself, she experienced first-hand how hard it is to provide for and raise a family. Tamika applied the lessons taught by her grandparents and completed her Bachelor’s degree from Kaplan University.
Tamika is a seasoned executive in fundraising, marketing and tax planning. She is the founder of East Harlem Tax Service. In this position, she develops the company’s overall mission to help small businesses and individuals file their personal and business taxes in a timely manner. Tamika started East Harlem Tax Service in 2009, following a 10-year career in various areas of fundraising and human resource management. She has held positions across the nonprofit spectrum including Fundraising Administrative Assistant, Fund Development Officer, as well as roles in employee relations and recruiting.
Having spent more than 5 years in New York City, Tamika has become a thriving entrepreneur and a role model for our community. She sees the struggles that hard-working individuals face every day and knows that together we can make our neighborhoods and communities safer and stronger. Tamika will bring a new voice to New York’s District 68 as Assemblyperson; she will be working with you, for a change! Mrs. Mapp is dedicated to providing increased access to affordable housing in addition to building stronger communities by providing our residents the resources they need to ensure the highest standards for quality of life throughout New York City.
